Good Shoes for Zumba® Part II?

Well, it's not really Part II...

I was thinking about writing a blog entry about "Good Shoes for Zumba", and decided to link the one that I already wrote in October 2010.

I'm just concerned about those of you who are wearing running shoes in your Zumba® classes. I noticed a few of you taking it easy in your running shoes by stepping instead of pivoting or gliding to avoid stressing your joints. It is very smart to tread lightly, pardon the pun, if you are wearing running shoes. However, a lot of Zumba® moves require your feet to pivot, turn, and slide. So, you should invest in a good shoe or support (like slip-ons) to accomodate those movements.

As you know, running shoes are designed for traction and for holding onto surfaces. They are not for Zumba® and can cause you some joint discomfort in the short or long term. So, if you could, please read the old post "Good Shoes for Zumba" because Eric and I do not want any of you to suffer from joint pain now or never.

If you plan on shopping for some shoes, get some shoe advice and/or recommendations from other Zumba® enthusiasts, but you must try on/out the shoes for yourself, because one shoe is not comfortable for all. Some of us need more/less arch support, and/or some of us have narrow/wide feet, etc.,

Perhaps, you noticed that I recently invested in some Zumba shoes. I'm enjoying them a lot. They are low-tread, and while I do wish they came in half sizes, I dance easily in them and my feet feel great! If any of you want to by a pair for a discount price, just give us a call at 919-399-1971.

Or, do more research and give these shoe brands a try: Blochs, Ryka, and/or Nike Musique.

Take good care of your feet. Your entire body will thank you for it!
